After many years of waiting, fans of the League of Legends fighting game were shown a significant update. The project formerly known as Project L had its name revealed as 2XKO. Here is everything that was shown in the brief trailer along with some thoughts on what could be coming next. This includes the 2XKO Release Date.

2XKO Release Date
The official 2XKO Release Date is not yet known but it has been announced that it will be coming in 2025.
With Project L officially being named 2XKO it is safe to assume that the game is coming soon. They wouldn’t reveal the name if this were not the case. It feels likely with this announcement that it will be sometime in the next 12 months.
They really did not reveal much else that was not already known.
2XKO Major Features
Below is what was revealed in the latest Press Release.
- Duo-Play – In addition to classic one-on-one competition, Duo Play allows players to play with each other on the same team
- 2v2 co-op tag team play allows players to pair up with a friend, offering new ways to play outside of pure 1v1 competition
- League’s Runeterra – 2XKO is a stylish fighter set in an uniquely modern expression of League of Legends’ Runeterra
- Iconic LoL champions are reflected in new and exciting ways, yet always remain true to their core.
- Controls – 2XKO’s streamlined controls and gameplay mechanics help players learn through play itself
- Streamlined controls enable faster fun, while preserving the game’s high level of depth and mastery
- FGC Focus – 2XKO embraces the values and ethos of the FGC with a grassroots approach to building and connecting players to the broader fighting game community
- 2XKO will bring the rivalry and camaraderie of an IRL arcade to a live service, online game
What Platforms is 2XKO Going to be Available On?
2XKO will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
It is worth noting that it will not be available on the Nintendo Switch, at least upon release. Also it will be fully next-gen consoles. No Xbox One or PS4 release will be happening.
