In a press release, Ninjas in Pyjamas have announced that not only will they be fielding a VALORANT team but, that their World Championship Paladin players will be the ones converting over. This comes after the team disbanded in November following a Championship run. The core roster will stay the same but, Erik “Bird” Sjösten will become the head coach which means the team is working on finding their fifth player.

“VALORANT is undoubtedly one of the most exciting titles in recent years, and it’s been clear to us from the beginning that it’s a game we
would like to be heavily involved in.”
Jonas Gundersen, COO of NiP
Here is a look at the current roster.
– Malkolm “bonkar” Rench
– Dylan “DiGeDoG” Chainski
– Leander “isbittenner” Aspestrand
– Aleks “Alex” Suchev
Jonas explains why they decided to bring back this roster in particular. “Assembling a roster in a newly released game is an exciting challenge. You never quite know how the game will play out and have to make some educated guesses as to what skillset translates best into high performance in a game like VALORANT. So with that, re-signing our old Paladins roster is one of the greatest things I could imagine.”
This is not the first org to start looking for players as many have started scouting even though the closed beta only came out on April 7. Many pros from other games have anticipated moving to this game. This includes the likes of Paladins, CSGO, Overwatch, Call of Duty and Rainbow Six Siege. It will be interesting to see how many actually make the move successfully and it will be worth watching which games translate the best.
