The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the New York Islanders 2-1 in Game 2.
The Islanders led 1-0 after the first two periods. Once the third period started, Hurricanes forward Warren Foegele and Nino Niederreiter scored two goals within 48 seconds. Goaltender, Petr Mrazek, stopped nine out of ten shots before leaving the game with an upper-body injury. Curtis McElhinney replaced Mrazek in the second period and finished the games with 17 saves. McElhinney, 35, recorded his first career playoff win.

Injury notes:
Hurricanes defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk sustained an upper-body injury in the opening minute of the game.
Petr Mrázek has left the game with an apparent injury.

The Hurricanes won both Games 1 and 2 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. They will now head home to PNC Arena to complete the sweep. Carolina won six of its last seven playoff games.
