Now that the college basketball season has started, the whole world has now seen the best NBA draft prospects. It is never too early to look ahead, as many NBA teams are already focused on the future rather than the present. Here is the NBA Mock Draft November 24. (Draft order from NBADraft.net)
1. Cleveland Cavaliers- R.J. Barrett, SF, Duke, Fr.
While Zion Williamson is the bigger social media star for his highlight plays, R.J. Barrett is the most polished prospect right now. He has the ability to get to the basket and shoot from deep, although he’ll want to get his 31% shooting from deep up a little bit. Cleveland surely needs another great player to pair with the young Collin Sexton.
2. Phoenix Suns- Zion Williamson, F, Duke, Fr.
Being that big and that athletic should be illegal, with Williamson striking fear into his opponents. He has highlight reel dunks and blocks that could send an average fan down a youtube rabbit hole. His 25% shooting from deep isn’t good enough, but he is still worthy of being the first or second choice in the draft.
3. Dallas Mavericks- Cam Reddish, G/F, Duke Fr.
The Mavericks have two solid young guards in Doncic and Dennis Smith Jr. They will still want to take the best player available in Reddish. Reddish can play the three and has a chance to be a tremendous player that has the athleticism to get to the basket, but still shoot well from outside.
4. Washington Wizards- Quentin Grimes, G, Kansas, Fr.
With the Wizards current issues, they are about to go into full rebuild mode. Grimes is a great shooter, who is hitting 52.6% of shots from three-point land. He has some work to do on the defensive end of the floor, but will likely get better on that end as the season goes on.
5. New York Knicks- Nassir Little, F, North Carolina, Fr.
Little is only playing 20 minutes per game, but is on a loaded North Carolina team. He is a good defender and drives the ball well. He’ll have to pick up more minutes later to keep his stock here.
6. Chicago Bulls- Keldon Johnson, G/F, Kentucky, Fr.
Chicago has a lot of good, young parts and can add a solid wing to the mix. Johnson is a good athlete and gets to the basket well, although he’ll need to work on his defense and become a more consistent outside shooter.
7. Atlanta Hawks- Rui Hachimura, F, Gonzaga, Jr.
One of the most improved players over the last few seasons of college basketball is Rui Hachimura. He has gone from averaging just over two points a game as a freshman to now averaging 22.5 points. Against Duke’s prospects in Maui, he dropped 20 points and had seven rebounds.
8. Minnesota Timberwolves- Romeo Langford, G, Indiana
With Jimmy Butler gone, the Timberwolves might want to get a young wing to develop. Langford is averaging 18.2 points per game for Indiana, but is shooting just 20% from three-point range.
9. Orlando Magic- Kevin Porter, G, USC
Porter is not the most known player in this draft, but is a great offensive prospect. He is far from a finished product, but a team like the Magic, who need guards, might want to invest and try to develop him.
10. Brooklyn Nets- Bol Bol, C, Oregon
Bol Bol provides shot blocking and an inside-out offensive game. He has some guard-like skills that help him out, but has shown that his whole game needs to be refined.
11. New Orleans Hornets- Sekou Doumbouya, F, France, Int.
Doumbouya is just 17-years-old and with that has a lot of room for improvement. He has good length and will need to make sure his shooting stroke is consistent.
12. Los Angeles Lakers- Naz Reid, C, LSU, Fr.
The Lakers had to trade for Tyson Chandler to shore up the inside, but he’s aging. They’ll want to address that in the draft. Reid has already made an impact scoring the ball and needs to do a better job rebounding the ball.
13. Utah Jazz- Jalen Smith, PF, Maryland, Fr.
Smith can score and rebound, although he might be too much of an old-school big to be drafted any higher than this.
14. Houston Rockets- Kris Wilkes, F, UCLA, So.
Wilkes has the potential to be a solid “three and D” player, even though he’s shooting worse from deep this year. He does average a steal a game.
15. Detroit Pistons- Darius Garland, PG, Vanderbilt, Fr.
This isn’t a great class for point guards, so Garland may be the first one to go in the late lottery stage. He can score for himself and make plays for others.
16. Miami Heat- Ja Morant, PG, Murray State, So,
Morant has made a name for himself despite not playing against great competition on a consistent basis. He is averaging over 22 points and nine assists per game, which has put him on the NBA Draft radar.
17. Charlotte Hornets- Daniel Gafford, C, Arkansas, So.
He may not be the best offensive player, but Gafford has the necessary athleticism and finishing ability to be selected in the middle of the first round.
18. Philadelphia 76ers- De’Andre Hunter, F, Virginia, Jr.
Playing at Virginia has taught him great defensive fundamentals. Hunter also has the ability to be a great NBA defender.
19. Boston Celtics- Charles Bassey, C, Western Kentucky, Fr.
Bassey is still young, as he reclassified to be a freshman this season. He should protect the rim and finish well at the NBA level.
20. Oklahoma City Thunder- Nickeil Alexander-Walker, G, Virginia Tech, So.
Alexander-Walker has great length and athleticism. He has also taken a huge step forward from year one to year two, which helps his stock drastically.
21. Boston Celtics- Jaylen Hoard, F, Wake Forest, Fr.
At 15.5 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game, Hoard has a good inside presence.
22. Boston Celtics- Jontay Porter, F/C, Missouri, So,
His stock was hurt with a season-ending injury, but he played fantastic in his freshman season for Missouri.
23. Boston Celtics- Jaylen Hands, PG, UCLA, So.
Hands is a good defensive player and a good shooter, although he’ll need to improve his playmaking ability.
24. Indiana Pacers- Jalen McDaniels, F, San Diego State, So.
McDaniels fits the current mold of a big man, as he can handle and shoot better than most bigs in the class.
25. San Antonio Spurs- Bruno Fernando, C, Maryland, So.
Although he could’ve come out last year, Fernando went back to school to refine his game. He is a good rim-protector and rebounder, allowing him to fill a role in the NBA.
26. Portland Trail Blazers- P.J. Washington, F, Kentucky
Washington has worked on his body and his shot this offseason and it has paid off.
27. Milwaukee Bucks- Carsen Edwards, PG, Purdue
Edwards can score in bunches, but doesn’t have prototypical size or athleticism for the NBA.
28. Brooklyn Nets- Tre Jones, PG, Duke
Just like his brother Tyus, Jones is a floor general who runs the team well.
29. San Antonio Spurs- Eric Paschall, F, Villanova
Paschall has a nice inside-out game that has improved over the last few years.
30. Golden State Warriors- Moses Brown, C, UCLA
The Warriors love getting inside depth in the draft and Brown is a big body who can anchor a defense.
