Week two of the National PUBG League has the competition heating up. Teams that no one expected to win took victories over favorites who are now looking to regain their strength. Week two showed that this can be anyone’s game, and all teams need to stay on alert.
Day One
The first match of day one saw a win for eUnited, who took the victory over Spacestation Gaming. eUnited put up a 16-kill game, which is the new record high for the NPL. The all competition kill record is still being held by Mustache Dave in the contender’s league with 17 kills. This is eUnited’s first Chicken Dinner, proving that they can win in a big way.
The second match went to Tempo Storm, who have been looking to reclaim a win after starting off week one in the number one position. Tempo Storm sealed their victory with a 3-on-1 battle with the last member of Endemic. Their clever use of the environment gave them the upper hand.
Another first came about in match three when Ghost Gaming won their first match in the league with six kills. Ghost finished off Tempo Storm, who were looking poised for another victory, but fell short in the shootout. Even though they came in second, Tempo Storm got the points that they needed to jump into first place.
The final match of the day went to Simplicity, who also claimed their first win in the league after some solid attempts in the first week. They took down Lazarus in a fast-paced shootout that could’ve gone either way.
At the end of day one, Tempo Storm remained on top after their impressive performances with Why Tempt Fate and Cloud9, sitting below them tied for second. Why Tempt Fate, the stars of week one, failed to continue their momentum, so they will be looking to pick up the pieces on day two of the weekend’s competition.
Day Two
Day two saw just as many surprises as day one. It began with another win for Simplicity in match one with an 11-kill game over Spacestation. The second match of the day went to Shoot To Kill who took home their first win in the league with a five-kill rampage that took down Ghost Gaming.
The final two matches of the day went to Tempo Storm and Envy. Tempo Storm carried over the success from the weekend and pulled out another impressive win with nine kills. Envy took the final win of the weekend overcoming Shoot To Kill who were looking to take another win in day two.
Week Two Standouts
The standouts from this weekend are Tempo Storm and Ghost Gaming. Tempo Storm looked amazing with two wins and high finishes all throughout the weekend. Ghost Gaming took an impressive win and showed that they were in the league to stay after a rough first weekend. They will be looking to carry their momentum into week three and capitalize on every situation.
NPL Contenders Week Two Preview
