Today the Vancouver Titans announced that they have mutually parted way with star Off Tank player Hyeonwoo “JJANU” Choi. This comes hot on the heels of rumors and speculation regarding possible tensions between the team’s players and upper management. Fans have seen multiple members of the Titans roster remove team branding from their social media platforms.
In the post released on the team’s official Twitter page by the teams “Esports DIrector” Tim Holloway, they thank JJANU for all he did for the team and wish him all the best in his future. Praising him as a supportive teammate on stage and off.
For the team moving forward, this puts them in a difficult spot. They now no longer have an off tank player. With the recent decision as well to move the team back to North America after moving to Korea at the player’s request, it does seem like there is trouble up in the north. In addition, JJANU‘s post on twitter released mere minutes following the announcement was just a few possibly very telling words.
