The Philadelphia Fusion came out of week 10 winners of two extremely hard-fought matches. The match against the Eternal was a bit of Deja Vu with the Eternal going up 2-0 but this time, the Fusion came out victorious in Game 5. That heart-stopping match was followed up by another nail biter against a strong Atlanta Reign team. The Fusion went up early 2-0 then the Reign turned it on. They brought back the match and forced a game five where the Fusion took home the W. Week 11 was a well deserved week off after those intense matches. Fusion fans need to prepare for a rematch though. On April 20, the Overwatch League announced this weekend’s games and it featured another heavyweight match against the Reign.
Philadelphia Fusion (8-1) vs Atlanta Reign (4-2)
The two juggernauts of the league go at it again this weekend, facing off on Saturday, April 25 at 4:00 PM EDT. The time off from last week has given the Fusion time to relax and regroup before another potentially intense series. For the Fusion to secure a win this game, they need to finish the game out. In week 10, they took a commanding lead against the Reign, only to let off the gas and allow them to come back and tie the series 2-2.
The Atlanta Reign comes into this game looking for revenge. Last weekend they took their frustration out against a struggling Washington Justice team, sweeping them 3-0. Fans should expect to see DPS powerhouses Andrej “babybay” Francisty and Joon “Edison” Jeong since the hero bans this week don’t include Widow, McCree or Mei. Viewers were also given a sneak peek last week at the Reign’s depth in support, subbing out Dusttin “Dogman” Bowerman for Steven “Kodak” Rosenberger. As the schedule moves forward, this team gets scarier and scarier.
Prediction: Fusion win 3-2
Player To Watch
Mr. 4000 kills himself, Jae-hyeok “Carpe” Lee is this week’s player to watch. Even though the hero bans don’t seem to phase him much, McCree and Widow are back this week. Fans should expect to see Carpe go head to head against babybay in either an epic Widow duel or McCree shootout. If all else fails, Carpe could jump on the Torb that he has been lighting everyone up on and maybe grab a hammer kill in the process.
