Overwatch’s 19th competitive season is now in full swing, having been live for nearly a month. This is also the first season which will be played on the new competitive season schedule, which means that its end date is not one that is as predictable as it has been in season’s past.
Starting with Season 19, each competitive season will start on the first Thursday every two months, if the developer team sticks to the schedule they’ve laid out. At each rotation, a new competitive season will begin and new maps will come into the cycle as well.
Season 20 Expected Start Date: January 2, 2020
So, if this trend holds true for Season 19 heading into Season 20, the 20th season should begin the first week of January in 2020, likely on the 2nd. The 20th season would begin immediately after that, likely also on the 2nd. It will take place, obviously, in the year 2020, which should provide some fun rewards and opportunities for sprays, skins, and other exciting new cosmetic items to ring in the next decade.
