The London Spitfire surprised the league last year with their deep playoff run, and now they are bringing back their hit-scan player that lead the way. On Thursday February 23, the London Spitfire announced the re-signing of DPS stand out SparkR for the 2023 season. SparkR joins the London Spitfire for another year after joining the squad back in 2021.
SparkR was given the opportunity to seek other offers in the 2022 offseason as his contract had expired after the season. After a long offseason of searching and waiting, it appears that the Spitfire had the best offer on the table. The Spitfire were patient in waiting for this hit-scan player to return home, because they did not sign an additional DPS player to play alongside Jamie “Backbone” O’Neill in the interim. The London Spitfire now have the same roster from the previous season, looking to improve on their success.

SparkR lead the team from the DPS position starting back in his initial debut in 2021. Though the Spitfire were a struggling team trying to find victories at any chance they had, SparkR remained a bright spot for the roster. Along with tank Daniel “Hadi” Bleinagel, SparkR was one of two players to stick around after that difficult 2021 season. Those same two players propelled an underdog Spitfire team to reach the 5th-6th spot in the Grand Finals bracket. With a year of Overwatch 2 under his belt, SparkR is surely looking to dive even further in the playoffs come 2023.
