There is no doubt that the Minnesota Wild are a good team. They have worked hard all season long, and it’s certainly going to pay off. The Wild’s season hasn’t been perfect, but the team has been working diligently for the last three months or so.
A Look at the Wild’s Season
Taking a look back to the team’s early days, the Wild had kind of a rocky start. However, it didn’t take long for the Wild to pick themselves up and begin winning more games.
Because of their improving performance and picking up more wins, the Wild changed for the better. Now, as the season comes to a close, the Wild are 3rd in the West Division and hold a 25-13-3 record. If they can keep up the momentum and continue winning more games, the Wild will be well on their way to a strong performance in the playoffs.
More recently, the Wild has been playing fairly good. For instance, in their matchup Wednesday, April 14, the Wild defeated the Arizona Coyotes in a 5-2 win.
This probably wasn’t their most toughest game to play, as the Coyotes are 19-20-5 and
During this game, the Wild had a strong performance. Some key players also returned to the lineup, which was a huge plus. Kevin Fiala and Marcus Foligno returned.
The Wild took a 3-1 lead and the scoring didn’t stop there. Jared Spurgeon scored in the third period, increasing the team’s lead to 5-1. In addition, Matts Zuccarello recorded two goals for that game. Three of the goals scored in the game were all powerplay goals.
At this point, it’s clear that the Wild has improved signifiantly since the beginning of the season. They have built a stronger unit as a team to produce more efficiency on the ice. This has turned into very productive results, with more goals and more wins going in favor of the Wild.
The Wild May be a Dangerous Playoff Team
Now as the season is almost completed, the picture of who will make it to the playoffs or not seems to be more clear. The Wild will be punching their ticket to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
It’s still early to determine exactly who the Wild will face, but it could be the Colorado Avalanche or Vegas Golden Knights. Regardless of who the Wild play, doesn’t matter. The Wild have been on a roll lately and are looking like a very powerful team right now.
Their playing style has really helped this team get to where they are now. In a way, the Wild is looking so much different than the team they were just a year ago.
The Wild didn’t make it too far last season. But they’re proving to be a different team this year. They’re going to make it to the playoffs this year. The burning question is, “Will they make it all the way to the Finals?”
Nothing is certain, but one thing that is certain is that the Wild have a handful of key players who will provide good offense and defense on the ice. Kevin Fiala, Joel Eriksson Ek and Kirill Kaprizov are skilled hockey players that have seemingly exceeded expectations.
The Wild have so many key players on their roster who will surely provide a difficult matchup against any team they face.
Up Next for the Wild
The Wild play the San Jose Sharks twice at home, then they will have a small roadtrip to face the Coyotes once again.
Looking ahead, they face the Vegas Golden Knights in a two-game homestand May 3 and 5. This will certainly be an interesting matchup, as it could give a preview of who they may face in the playoffs. Plus, the Golden Knights are red hot. They are 29-11-2 are are currently on a four game winning streak.
The Knights have a powerful prescene on the ice and also have talented hockey players on their team. So, this matchup raises the competition the Wild must face. But it will definitely be a good challenge for the team so they can see how they may do during the playoffs.
