On Friday, the Winnipeg Jets and the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals announced that the two clubs have entered into a partnership for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.
Last season, the Admirals, based in Norfolk VA, had the worst record in the ECHL, finishing with a record of 21-46-2.
The team’s general manager and head coach Jeff Carr nonetheless spoke with optimism about the team’s future following the partnership announcement: “This affiliation helps us build a solid base as we continue to ascend in our new culture,” he said.
The Admirals previously served as the ECHL affiliate for the Carolina Hurricanes, but now replace the Jacksonville Iceman as part of the Jets pipeline along with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.
