The Baltimore Ravens and Roquan Smith have reportedly agreed on a new contract between the two parties. Smith will become the highest-paid linebacker in the league, as he is being given a five-year $100 million deal with $45 million guaranteed.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Smith was taken with the eighth pick of the first round in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. He played there for four-plus seasons until being traded to the Ravens in 2022, for a player, a 2023 second rounder and a 2023 third rounder.
In nine games with Baltimore, Smith had one pick, three pass deflections, two sacks and 86 combined tackles (51 solo). These numbers, plus the ones he racked up with the Bears, led to his first Pro Bowl selection this year.
