Football has returned! The anticipation is over. Week 1 of the 2018 NFL season kicks off tonight when the former Super Bowl Champions face off against the Atlanta Falcons.
Atlanta is heading into Philly with feelings of revenge. The Falcons lost to the Eagles in the NFC Divisional round last year; preventing a chance at a Super Bowl ring. Both teams have banged up offenses, but Eagles will defend their title in week 1. Eagles over Falcons 20-17
The Cleveland Browns have a newly revamped team after the draft and trades during the offseason. All-star receiver Jarvis Landry and new quarterback Tyrod Taylor can connect on multiple plays and their stacked backfield can possibly blow through the Steelers’ defensive line. Le’Veon Bell is not active this week. Browns over Steelers 17-14
The Buffalo Bills traded away their quarterbacks just to have Nathen Peterman start. The Ravens’ defense will be too much for the Bills to handle. Ravens over Bills 27-10
Andrew Luck will be in the spotlight when he makes his return on Sunday, but the Colts have no one surrounding Luck to help him hit his full potential in his return. Cincinnati is the better team in scoring and has the advantage on both sides. Bengals over Colts 28-21
A new coaching staff for the Titans and a quarterback that has a good potential to have a great year after making the playoffs last season can mean trouble for teams in the AFC. Their defense is easily better and Derrick Henry can give Miami a run for their money. The Dolphins might not need Landry with Kenny Stills and Devante Parker on the roster but it won’t be enough. Titans over Dolphins 24-20
Kyle Shanahan is a great offensive play caller. Jimmy Garoppolo is 7-0 as a starter but not for long. Kirk Cousins and the Vikings’ offense will overshadow the hype of the 49ers’ upcoming season. Vikings over 49ers 30-21
Deshaun Watson and J.J. Watt will both be making their return after missing most of the 2017 season. The Texans can do some damage if they stay healthy. Going into New England and facing Tom Brady can be a challenge but their receiving core has taken a hit. Texans over Patriots 34-30
DROY and OROY will come out with a bang, Alvin Karma did score a 106-yard touchdown against Tampa last season. The Buccaneers reworked their defense, which makes it hard for the Saints since they are missing Mark Ingram, but it won’t faze the Saints. Saints over Bucs 27-17
Eli Manning used to be a threat on the field, but last season makes it seem that things have turned around. Odell Beckham Jr. signed his new contract and Saquon Barkley is the rookie to look out for. Even with this, it is hard to believe that they can get past the Jaguar’s defense. Jags over Giants 28-13
This is Patrick Mahomes first season starting with the Chiefs and he is surrounded by talent, but Phillip Rivers and the Chargers are stepping it up. With Chiefs’ safety Eric Berry questionable and Chargers’ wide receiver Kennan Allen at the top of his game, it’ll be too much for Kansas City up keep up with. Chargers over Chiefs 30-24
Both teams will be showing off their new quarterbacks. Alex Smith will be making his debut as a Redskin, while Sam Bradford gets his first start for the Cardinals. The home team might be able to hold it together better than a whole new offensive core (QB, RB, WR). Cardinals over Redskins 23-20
This game will be a quarterback matchup like no other this week. The talent on both sides of the line makes this decision difficult. Go with the home team. Panthers over Cowboys 23-21
The Seahawks have slimmed their team to almost nothing, Russel Wilson will be the center of attention for the Seahawks, but with Von Miller on the field chasing him down it seems unlikely they will be able to escape. Broncos over Seahawks 28-17
The newest trade that everyone is talking about could have any team worried. Khalil Mack has been moved to the Bears. Mack and Danny Trevathan could mean trouble for the Packers, but if anyone knows how to escape the defense, it is Aaron Rodgers. His accuracy and immense talent overshadow the Bears’ new defense. Packers over Bears 24-21
Mathew Stafford is a good QB year after year. The Jets are starting Sam Darold but the first-year quarterback won’t outdo the NFL vet. Lions over Jets 20-13
Aaron Donald just signed a massive contract securing his place with the Rams and Khalil Mack was just traded to the Bears. Derek Carr is a great quarterback and Marshawn Lynch has tremendous power, but the Rams’ defense will overpower Oakland. Rams over Raiders 28-20
