The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. The bowl season schedule allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2020 Allstate Sugar Bowl.
Georgia Bulldogs Draft Prospects
D’Andre Swift, RB
Swift has played a lot from his first season on campus, even though Georgia always has a loaded backfield. In his career, Swift has 2,883 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns. This season, Swift has 1,216 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.
He is 5-foot-9 and 215 pounds, which makes him short, but well-built for an NFL running back. Swift is in contention to be the first running back selected in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Projected Draft Range: First round-second round
Jake Fromm, QB
Fromm was one of the best quarterback prospects coming into the 2019 college football season. He has 7,986 passing yards, 76 touchdowns and 18 interceptions on 63.2 percent completion in his Georgia career. This season, Fromm has passed for 2,610 yards, 22 touchdowns and five interceptions on 60.3 percent completion.
He is 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, which isn’t ideal size for an NFL quarterback, but is good enough to not create any issues with scouts. Fromm hasn’t had the best season, but is still a quality draft prospect.
Projected Draft Range: First round-second round
*OT Andrew Thomas is sitting out this game to prepare for the NFL Draft. He is a projected Top 15 pick.
Other notable draft-eligible players:Â RB Brian Herrien, WR Lawrence Cager, WR Tyler Simmons, WR Demetris Robertson, WR Matt Landers, TE Eli Wolf, OT Isaiah Wilson, OG/C Ben Cleveland, OG/C Solomon Kindley, DT Devante Wyatt, LB Tae Crowder, LB Monty Rice, CB Eric Stokes, S J.R. Reed, S Richard LeCounte
Baylor Bears Draft Prospects
Denzel Mims, WR
Mims has been through the lows of Baylor football, but has more recently helped them get to a New Year’s Six Bowl Game. In his four seasons at Baylor, Mims has 181 receptions for 2,850 yards and 27 touchdowns. He has elevated his game this season with 61 receptions for 945 yards and 11 touchdowns.
He has good size for an NFL receiver at 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds. If it weren’t such a loaded wide receiver class, Mims could be selected way higher.
Projected Draft Range: Third round-fifth round
JaMycal Hasty, RB
Hasty has also been with Baylor through the highs and the lows as a senior. He has 1,985 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns in his career. This season, he has 614 rushing yards, 173 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
At 5-foot-9 and 205 pounds, he is a little smaller than most NFL running backs, but might be able to make up for that with his versatility. Hasty could be chosen in the later rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth round-undrafted free agent
Other notable draft-eligible players:Â QB Charlier Brewer, WR Chris Platt, OT Jake Frumorgen, OG/C Johncarlo Valentin, OG/C Sam Tecklenburg, DT Bravvion Roy, Edge James Lockhart, LB Blake Lynch, LB Clay Johnson, LB Jordan Williams, CB James Houston, S Chris Miller, S Henry Black
