Sanu, 31, was traded to the Patriots last year from the Falcons. In eight games last season, he had 26 receptions for 207 yards and one touchdown. He has played in the league for eight seasons with time spent with the Patriots, Falcons and Bengals. Sanu has 403 receptions and 4,507 yards and 26 touchdowns.
The Patriots will now have some inexperience at wide receiver. Julian Edelman is a veteran, but other than that there are a lot of younger players at the position.
