The Madden 22 ratings have finally been unveiled. As always, there are some questionable ratings for players on every single team. In this series, TGH writers will give their opinions on the most overrated and underrated players on each roster.
Here are the players on the Green Bay Packers that have been the most underrated by Madden 22.
Aaron Rodgers
Plainly and simply, Aaron Rodgers won NFL MVP last season. That is enough to earn a 99 rating for some people. But here is a look at the numbers to convince those who are not convinced by the award alone.
First of all, Rodgers was rated a 99 in the iterations of Madden that came after his other two MVP seasons (2011/Madden 12 and 2014/Madden 15). He had more passing touchdowns than any other season of his storied career in 2020. Those 48 touchdowns led the entire NFL. His completion percentage of 70.7 was also the highest of his career and, again, led the entire league.
Some other stats he led the NFL in: interception percentage (1.0 percent), ESPN’s QBR (84.4), NFL quarterback rating (121.5) and touchdown percentage (9.1 percent). He also earned the Packers the number one overall seed after pundits and fans insisted his receiving core was sub-par at best.
Almost all of those historic numbers are better than his other two 99-rated seasons, as one could easily guess. Rodgers easily outpaced the other quarterbacks rated above him, Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady. It should go without saying that no one is saying Brady and Mahomes do not deserved to be rated highly. But Rodgers was shorted by not being a member of the 99 Club after his best season. His 96 overall rating is provably too low.

Mason Crosby
Crosby hit 100 percent of his field goals in 2020. Now, he did not approach the most attempted field goals in the league, going 16 for 16. But hitting all of them is still impressive for a 14-year veteran. Especially when considering he was not only attempting “gimmies.”
He made all nine attempts from 40-plus yards. That includes going four-for-four on attempts from 50-plus yards. Crosby even made a 57-yarder as a 36-year-old. He also attempted 63 extra points, making 59 of them (both an NFL-best).
Crosby is old, no doubt, and not any kind of threat in a fake field goal situation. But he still remains one of the most accurate kickers in the league. Justin Tucker remains the gold standard, but there should not be 12 kickers ranked above him.
Madden 22 rating: 78

Elgton Jenkins
It is arguable that the best kind of ability an offensive lineman can have is availability. That is hard to factor into a Madden rating, but if it is possible, Jenkins could rise up the rankings. Since being drafted in 2019, he has played in every single game and started in all but two. He was sitting behind Lane Taylor in those two games, replacing him in Week 3 of the 2019 season and never surrendering the job again.
Jenkins surrendered zero sacks in 2020, earning his first Pro Bowl appearance. If it were not for the greatness of the Colts’ Quenton Nelson, he would have likely been First-Team All Pro at his position. An 86 overall ranking and the fifth-best left guard is nothing to sneeze at, but it does not speak to the reliability of Jenkins. He deserves a 90 or better.
