Tampa Bay is re-signing a player that has been a key member of their defense since 2012. Linebacker Lavonte David is reportedly signing a new deal with the Buccaneers worth $7 million for the 2023-2024 season.
The NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
David has been a Buccaneer since draft day in 2012. He was chosen in the second round of the draft and immediately signed to a four-year deal. The Bucs signed him to two more contracts after that expired, one in 2015 and one in 2021.
Along with helping the team win Super Bowl 55 over the Kansas City Chiefs, David has a First Team All-Pro selection (2013), two Second Team All-Pro selections (2016, 2020) and one Pro Bowl nod (2015). In his First Team All-Pro year, he had five interceptions from the linebacker position.
