Jason Garrett will not be retained by the Dallas Cowboys according to ESPN’s Ed Werder.
Source: #Cowboys Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones have moved slowly and with “abundance of care and respect” for Jason Garrett. That phase expected to conclude soon with Garrett not part of organization. Next phase to involve candidate interviews will begin quickly thereafter.

In his 10 seasons as head coach in Dallas, Garrett posted an 85-67 record. The Cowboys made the playoffs three times under Garrett, but they failed to get past the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
Garrett’s contract was up following the season, so the Cowboys can now move on to the interview phase of getting a new coach.
