The Arizona Cardinals lost more than the Week 5 matchup versus the Bengals on Sunday. Star running back James Conner is headed to the injury list after suffering a knee injury. It is possible he will land on IR, necessitating him missing four weeks.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Joining the Cardinals in 2021, Conner made his second Pro Bowl that year. He has never eclipsed 1,000 yards, but scored 15 touchdowns on the ground in 2021, and one more through the air. He’s well on pace to beat last year’s rushing numbers, even if he does miss time.
In five games so far this season, Conner has 364 yards and two touchdowns. He’s also caught two passes for 30 more yards through the air. He’s been one of the bright spots on this surprisingly scrappy Cardinals team through five weeks.
