Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase may miss a significant amount of time after suffering a hip injury. He is expected to miss Week 8 against the Browns, but may be placed on injured reserve if the injury is deemed serious enough after more medical opinions. Hitting the IR will ensure Chase misses at least four weeks.
The NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported the news via Twitter on Thursday.
After being drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Chase became the key component to the Bengals’ offense on their way to Super Bowl LVI. Last season, in 17 games, he had 81 receptions for 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns.
With those stats, he made the Pro Bowl, was voted Offensive Rookie of the Year and was named to the Second Team All-Pro. So far in seven games in the 2022 season, Chase has 47 receptions for 605 yards and six touchdowns.
