Davis’s deal with the Jets is for three years and is worth $37.5 Million. New York has guaranteed $27 Million of his deal.
Corey Davis was drafted by the Tennesee Titans fifth overall in 2017. He had been a disappointment during the first three years of his career. However, Davis broke out this past season. Davis tied a career-high in receptions with 65 and set career highs with 984 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Signing Davis to this kind of deal puts the belief in place that the Jets organization believes that Davis could be their number one pass-catching option. Despite Davis’ lack of success before this season, this isn’t a farfetched thought considering he was taken with the fifth overall pick in 2017. The trio of Corey Davis, Jamison Crowder, and 2020 second-round pick Denzel Mims could make the Jets starting quarterback next season very happy.
