The Miami Dolphins have made a bevy of cuts to trim their opening day roster to 53. Seven players have been cut at time of writing on Tuesday. They are Lynn Bowden, Jr., Porter Gustin, Kellen Diesch, Cam Goode, Verone McKinley III, Solomon Kindley and Preston Williams.
Lynn Bowden thanked Miami on Twitter after being released from the roster.
Bowden was drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft, in the third round by the Las Vegas Raiders. He was promptly traded to the Dolphins in September of the same year. He saw some game action that season, playing in 10 games (starting four) at wide receiver. Bowden had 28 catches for 211 yards and zero touchdowns. He also added nine rushes for 32 yards.
Apparently, the Dolphins had been offered trades for Preston Williams, but did not accept any of them. Now, they have been forced to cut him instead, garnering nothing for him. He has played 24 games in his career, catching 111 balls for 787 yards and seven touchdowns. He had played his entire career for Miami up to this point.
