The Dallas Cowboys have informed Ezekiel Elliott that he will be released according to Ian Rapoport. It will be designated as a post-June 1 cut to clear cap space.
Elliott, 27, spent seven seasons with the Cowboys. He rushed for 8,262 yards and 68 touchdowns in his career. Last season, he rushed for 876 yards and 12 touchdowns.
With the emergence of Tony Pollard, the Cowboys have utilized his skillset more, which opened up the possibility of releasing Elliott.
