Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley’s 2019 campaign is over. He suffered an abdominal injury in their Week 14 win over the Panthers. After leaving that game in the third quarter, he would not return.
The NFL’s Ian Rapoport reported Ridley’s own confirmation that the injury was serious enough to shut him down for the season.

The second-year receiver was well on his way to a 100-yard day before going down with the abdominal tear. He had 76 yards and one touchdown on the day. The best game of his sophomore campaign also came against Carolina, when he caught eight passes for 143 yards and a score.
Through 13 games, Ridley had already eclipsed his rookie season in yards and targets, falling short of his first year reception mark by only one. He also was on pace to break his previous touchdown mark and may have potentially enjoyed a 1,000-yard season if he continued playing.
Atlanta has a tough road game ahead, against the 11-2 San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
