Houston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks is out versus the Eagles on Thursday Night Football. He was hoping to be traded to a playoff contender at Tuesday’s trade deadline, but no trade was made. The official reason for his absence is “personal reasons.”
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Cooks was questionable on Thursday, but he has since been ruled out.
This is Cooks’ ninth NFL season after being drafted by the Saints in 2014. He played there for three seasons before joining the Patriots for one, the Rams for two and has been a Texan since the 2020 season. Cooks signed a two-year extension with the team in April.
In seven games this season, Cooks has 32 receptions for 354 yards and one touchdown on one of the league’s worst teams. During his first year with the Rams, he set a career high in yards with 1,204. His career high in touchdowns came during his second season, when he caught nine.
