The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly signing veteran linebacker Mychal Kendricks. Instead of being brought on to the practice squad, Kendricks will be immediately elevated to the San Francisco’s 53-man roster.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
So many veterans come in and sign to the practice squad with thoughts of eventually elevating, but Kendricks will sign to the 53-man roster, source said. https://t.co/IhKkczxAZ9

Kendricks was a second round draft pick in 2012, taken by the Philadelphia Eagles. He played six seasons with the Eagles, winning Super Bowl 52 over the New England Patriots. Since then, he has been a member of the Browns, Seahawks and Washington Football Team, never spending much time at any stop.
He was on the 49ers’ offseason roster, but was released due to injury. Now that the injury is healed, Kendricks will rejoin San Francisco’s defense. The Niners will take on the Colts in Week 7 after having a bye in Week 6.
