1. David Ojabo, Edge, Michigan Wolverines
Michigan has finally defeated Ohio State again. The running game and pass rush was relentless for the Wolverines, which helped them secure the victory. David Ojabo teamed with Aidan Hutchinson to wreak havoc. Ojabo finished with three total tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack. He also helped Hutchinson get a few sacks with his pressure forcing C.J. Stroud to move around in the pocket.
Ojabo has seen his stock rise more than just about anyone this season. Getting to double-digit sacks on the season is very impressive and he and Hutchinson complement each other very well. He is currently projected to be a first-round pick and his stock is only rising.
2. Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State Buckeyes
Ohio State suffered a tough loss to Michigan. Their offense wasn’t as explosive as most weeks, but their defense really let them down. Chris Olave still had a solid game though. He had eight catches for 77 yards and no touchdowns. Olave had a great catch over a defensive back during the comeback attempt, showing his great athleticism in the process.
The loss will sting, but Olave has done a lot over the course of his Ohio State career. He could’ve been an early pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and could do the same this season. Olave is currently projected to be a first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
3. Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama narrowly escaped with a win against Auburn. They were only able to score 24 points in the game and part of that may have been because they were without Williams, who was ejected for targeting with nine minutes left in the second quarter. The play happened on a punt that he was covering for the Crimson Tide. In the short time that he was available, Williams had two catches for 43 yards.
Williams has been a big-play threat for the Crimson Tide all season long with his blazing speed. Him not being able to play in this game really hurt Alabama. He has had some big games this season, which greatly helped his stock after he transferred in from Ohio State.
4. Phil Jurkovec, QB, Boston College Eagles
Boston College really struggled against Wake Forest, as they had several players out with an illness. The offense struggled to get going and some important plays were called back for penalties. Jurkovec finished with just 19 passing yards and a touchdown on 3/11 passing. He also rushed for 66 yards.
Jurkovec had a hand injury earlier in the season, so that may have had an impact on his performance, as the game was in the cold. He did not have his best performance. It is still up in the air whether Jurkovec may return to school fully healthy next year to improve his stock or if he will test the waters this season. He is currently projected to be a first or second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
5. Travon Walker, DL, Georgia Bulldogs
Georgia had no trouble ending the season undefeated, as they whipped their rivals Georgia Tech in the final week of the season. The defense was dominant once again. They were led by their great defensive line. Walker had just one total tackle, but as always, his impact on the game was far greater than what shows up in the box score.
Walker is a versatile defensive lineman who has been disruptive all year. He has even spent time in kick coverage during his time at Georgia. His ability to be disruptive will have teams wanting to pick him early in the draft. He is currently projected to be a first or second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
