The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2025 First Responder Bowl.
North Texas Mean Green Draft Prospects
Terrell Dawkins, EDGE
Dawkins started his college career at NC State. He the transferred to South Carolina, where he spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Dawkins joined North Texas in 2024. In his lone season with the Mean Green, Dawkins registered 37 total tackles, four tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
At 6-foot-4 and 262 pounds, Dawkins has good size for an NFL edge rusher. He failed to match his production from 2020 at any other point his career, which will raise some concerns. If he tests well, he could be selected late in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
Roderick Brown, DL
Brown joined North Texas in 2021 and created an impact early. He was named to the C-USA All-Freshman Team. He continued to develop after seeing the field early in his career. In 2024, Brown has tallied 26 total tackles, seven tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
He stands at 5-foot-11 and 290 pounds, which makes him undersized for an NFL interior defensive lineman. Brown will have a tough time making a roster at that size, so he’ll have to test well athletically at the NFL Combine.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Texas State Bobcats Draft Prospects
Jordan McCloud, QB
McCloud started his college career at USF in 2019. He spent two years with the Bulls, then transferred to Arizona. After Arizona he moved onto James Madison before finishing his eligibility with Texas State. In 2024, he has passed for 2,920 yards, 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions on 69.6 percent completion.
At 6-foot and 205 pounds, McCloud is undersized for an NFL quarterback. He has some mobility, but lacks the arm talent of other top quarterbacks in this class. It will be tough for him to get drafted, but h could get a chance to try out for a team.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Tunmise Adeleye, EDGE
Adeleye started his career at Texas A&M in 2021 after being a highly-touted recruit. After two seasons with the Aggies, he moved on to the Michigan State Spartans. He transferred to Texas State for the 2024 season. In 2024, he has three tackles for loss and two sacks.
At 6-foot-4 and 290, Adeleye is huge for an edge rusher. His best bet might be for him to continue to add weight and play on the interior. His production hasn’t been great in his caeer, so the best bet for him is likely to return to school for one more year.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
