The 2022 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Logan Hall 2022 NFL Draft Profile.
Logan Hall Background
Position:Â Defensive Line
Size:Â 6-foot-6, 283 pounds
Class:Â Redshirt Junior
2021 stats:Â 47 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 6.0 sacks
Hall had a very impressive 2021 season to put him on the radar for the NFL. Now, he is taking his talents to the league in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Out of high school, Hall was a three-star recruit who decided to stay in Texas and play for Houston in college. He was able to play a lot for a true freshman and had three tackles for loss. Hall made three starts as a sophomore and registered just 1.5 tackles for loss. In 2020, Hall started seven of the eight games for Houston, tallying two tackles for loss and a sack. Houston went 3-5 in a COVID-shortened season. Hall took a huge step forward in 2021, registering 13 tackles for loss and six sacks. The Cougars benefitted from the jump in his play, as they posted a 12-2 record.
Following his great season, Hall declared for the NFL. He is currently projected to be a second to third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Logan Hall Strengths
Hall has a frame that looks like it could eventually be good for the NFL. He is 6-foot-6 and has very long arms. Hall has worked to add to his frame in an effort to play on the interior of the defensive line. He still has some work to do in order to get to an ideal frame, but his improvement is encouraging.
At the snap of the ball, Hall shows a good jump to get a solid start to the play. He is more agile and mobile than most offensive linemen, which helps him beat blockers to a spot. Hall can win matchups by being faster than most interior offensive linemen.
His pass-rushing skills are refined for an interior defensive lineman. He can win with his quickness and can convert speed to power. On top of that, he has a decent amount of pass-rushing moves, including a really good swim move. At the very least, he should be able to used in pass-rushing situations in the NFL.
Logan Hall Weaknesses
While he has added to his frame, Hall still has a lot of work to do. He is 283 pounds, which isn’t the greatest for an interior defensive lineman. With his size, he may be limited to being a 3-4 defensive end. If he can continue to add strength, he could end up being a solid 4-3 defensive tackle.
He is more advanced as a pass rusher at this point of his career. Hall can struggle to shed against stronger interior offensive linemen when they are run blocking. He has the mobility to tackle ball carriers, but his inability to shed blocks will hold him back from being able to do so.
Hall only showed one year of great production in college. In some ways, this might be an encouraging sign, as the work he put in, especially on his body, finally paid off. With only one good year of tape though, he is still learning to win his matchups, especially while he continues to add strength.
