Olshey had been with the Trail Blazers’ front office for almost a decade, becoming the general manager in 2012. Under Olshey, the Blazers had made the playoffs eight times, all in consecutive seasons. Their peak came in 2018-2019, in which Portland made the Western Conference Finals.
Joe Cronin has been promoted to interim General Manager after Olshey’s firing. The team currently sits in ninth place, with a record of 11-12.
