Predictions for NBA 2022-2023 Standings
This article is going to include the predictions for NBA 2022-2023 standings. Some teams are expected to go all in on free agents while others are still looking for their coaches. Which teams are going to look the best? Which teams are going to continue the tank? It’s time to get into the juicy stuff.
Charlotte Hornets: 5-8 Seed
Hornets will make anywhere from the five to the eight seed given their current situation. As of right now, the Hornets are looking at Mike D’Antoni for the head coaching position. Mix him and their current roster of young talent and athleticism and you get arguably the most exciting team to watch in the NBA. D’Antoni is known for having a heavy offensive scheme that brings out the best in players, but the lack of defensive schemes makes it hard to win consistently come playoff time. Granted, if he were to get hired, he would have fun working with a core of Miles Bridges, LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, and Gordon Hayward. Not to mention, they have many young and exciting players including James Bouknight and Kai Jones. Depending on what this club does, they are looking like a team to watch out for next season.
San Antonio Spurs: 7-9 Seed
The Spurs weren’t supposed to make it as far as they did this season. They lost in the play-in tournament, but this team still looked gritty and gave it their best shot. Their current situation is a bit murky as far as the future is concerned as Coach Gregg Popovich may not be with them after this season. However, they have a really nice core they’re working with at the moment in Dejounte Murray, Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, and whoever they draft. They have the ninth overall pick this draft, so hopefully they get their man. The Spurs are looking like a nice team to look out for once again, though because of their young core. Maybe, just maybe they can make it back to the playoffs this year. Watch out for who they draft in the first round this year. They have three first round picks this year.
Sacramento Kings: 9-10 Seed
This is not a troll take by any means. Hopefully, fans can see this team make a little bit of noise this season. Their young core and top five pick should be looking towards a season full of ups and downs. The Kings have too much potential from their guys in De’Aron Fox, Davion Mitchell and now Domantas Sabonis. If this team can put it all together and win some games, maybe they can sniff a playoff birth for the first time since forever. This Kings team needs to get something going because the franchise has been a laughing stock for who knows how long. Count on the Kings to make somewhat of a push to the playoffs this year.
