LeBron James has suffered a right foot injury that might keep him out long-term. Apparently, he will take two weeks off before the injury is “reassessed.” Then, a timetable for his return (or lack thereof) will likely be announced.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
The 19-time All-Star is attempting to lead the Lakers back to the playoffs. Head coach Darvin Ham said that the Lakers are eyeing the sixth seed, although they currently hold the 12th seed, with a record of 29-32.
So far this year, James is scoring 29.5 points per game while adding 6.9 assists and 8.4 rebounds per contest. He also became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer this year, passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. James’ return date will likely be tied to their place in the standings.
