Montas has a 3.18 ERA and 4-9 record this season. Despite pitching well, the wins haven’t piled up. He joins the Yankees’ rotation as they try to make a run at the World Series. He will join Gerrit Cole, Luis Severino, among other starters for New York.
Trivino has struggled in 2022 with a 6.47 ERA over 30 appearances. The hope is the change of scenery will help, but if not the Yankees already added to their bullpen on Monday with the addition of Scott Effross.
Oakland has clearly been rebuilding and currently sit with a 39-65 record. According to the MLB Pipeline, Waldichuck is the fifth-ranked prospect, while Medina ranks 10th, Sears is 20th and Bowman rounds it out as the 21st-ranked in the Yankees’ system.
