Theo Epstein and Maddon both agreed to part ways after talking on Saturday night. Maddon was 471-338 in his five seasons with the Cubs. He helped the Cubs win the World Series in 2016, which ended their 107-year drought.
The Cubs will look for a new manager for next season and are rumored to like Mark Derosa, who has no managerial experience.
