The Cincinnati Reds will hire Terry Francona as their next manager according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
Francona was retired for one season before coming out to take this job. Previously, he managed the Phillies, Red Sox and Guardians. In his career, Francona has a 1,950-1,672 record. He won the World Series with the Red Sox in 2004 and 2007. Francona is a three-time Manager of the Year Award winner.
In Cincinnati, Francona will take over for David Bell. who had managed the team for the last six seasons. The Reds haven’t made the postseason since 2020, when the postseason was expanded due to COVID-19.
