Pack up those trade binders and grab those hiking boots, Magic: The Gathering is heading to Middle-Earth. The highly anticipated Lord of the Rings and Magic mashup finally has a release date, and both tabletop and digital players can get excited. The Universes Beyond set based in the Lord of the Rings universe is coming to Magic Arena as well as local game stores. Arena players can expect the set early online on June 20. The physical cards will arrive second with the release date booked for June 23.

Players won’t have to wait much longer to get a first glimpse of Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth. The first look stream is marked for March 14, where the Weekly MTG show will surely reveal some of the newest cards from the set. The spoiler season officially starts May 30 and will run for two weeks before the prerelease on June 16.
For this product there is also a new secondary release date titled “Holiday Release”. At the moment there aren’t many details about this new release, though players are certainly speculating about what could be special about this early November date.
Magic players are excited to see what this new product has in store with Wizard’s latest IP collaboration. As this is a Universes Beyond set, this will not be Standard legal. Commander and Legacy players will surely be interested to see what busted cards pop up come June 20.
