This week the focus is on the mechanically talented Tristan “Zeyzal” Stidum. Coming off another 1-1 week in the LCS, Evil Geniuses have seemed to be coming into top form, a lot of which was due to the power of the bot lane duo of Zeyal and Bang. This week, they were tested, facing off against Immortals and the current undefeated team in the LCS, Cloud 9. Although the ADC Bang has a lot of achievements under his belt, the real story is on how well Zeyzal had been in the support position for EG.
THE BEARD IN THE BOT LANE
Despite their record of three wins and five loses, EG is still a team to be feared with their highly skilled players who are still practicing their team synergy. One of these talented players in the Bearded Bot Lane support Zeyzal who is fresh off of a worlds performance and has previously dominated the league with his duo’s in the bottom lane.
When looking at the stats of the support for EG, they show why Zeyzal is considered to be an asset to the team. With a 65.5% Kill Participation so far, this player is really helping not only his ADC succeed, but the rest of the team as well. Although he only has a 5.3 K/D/A currently, it is still higher than previous seasons, and a support is truly doing his job well when the ADC is the one who lives at the end of the fight.
In the current state of EG, there is no real way to show how talented these players are without looking at their previous accomplishments as well as their opponents. In Zeyzal’s overall career, he has made two World Championship appearances, multiple LCS playoff appearances, and has replaced a veteran support on Cloud 9 even though he played on the Academy roster. As time goes on, the roster will only get stronger, and Zeyzal in his bearded glory, will only grow more evil.
WORLD CHAMPION DUO PARTNER
Zeyzal was formerly a Duo partner with the well known Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi, but now he has upgraded to one of the former World Champions Bang. Their plays together are getting better and better as time goes on. In the recent match they won against Immortals, Bang and Zeyzal were about 100 CS above their opposing laners, developing their own lead and helping them secure the victory.
The Bot Lane Duo of EG will again be tested this next weekend facing off against TSM and Team Liquid. These two teams have also struggled despite the fact that they have succeeded in multiple years prior. Regardless, EG should not take these next games lightly, as they need to continue to win in order to secure a playoff spot for the LCS Spring Split.
