It seems like 2023 will be the year of fighting games with some of the biggest fight games series getting new releases. Mortal Kombat was not going to be left out. In a bit of a surprise announcement, Mortal Kombat 1 was just revealed. Fans of the series are going to have some questions about the game. One will be, is Mortal Kombat 1 Crossplay? Here is the answer to that question and some more details surrounding it.
[Related: Mortal Kombat 1 Release Date]
Mortal Kombat has been one of the biggest fighting games in the world for some time. Its original release was all the way back in 1992 and it has been one of the longest-standing fighting games in history. So much so that the original games were arcade games before coming to consoles.
The last Mortal Kombat released was Mortal Komabt 11 back in 2019. So it has not been terribly long for Mortal Kombat fans.
This game seems to be wanting to go back to the beginning. The name suggests that this will be a new start. Which is very interesting and is making fans wonder, what could they be adding or changing to the already very action-packed and bloody series?
When it comes to the Mortal Kombat 1 Crossplay, it will sadly not be crossplay to start.
This is likely a surprise to players. Especially considering the game will be available for Xbox, PlayStation 5 and PC on release. The good part is that as the statement above says, it is only at the start. There will be crossplay and cross-progression added at a later date.
With the game releasing in the fall, it is expected that around the feature may be added around the holidays. So not terribly long after the initial launch.
