The Game Haus will be analyzing the player ratings from Madden 20 of every NFL team. Madden has a daunting task of rating all NFL players and their attributes. While they have the ability to correct some of these rankings with in-season roster updates, there are some issues with some of the initial rankings of players. Here are the Madden 20 questionable ratings: Jacksonville Jaguars.
Yannick Ngakoue- 84
Although he didn’t have quite as many sacks as in 2017, Ngakoue had a decent season with 9.5 sacks. He is one of the better young pass rushers in the NFL. Madden only gave him an 84 rating though, which is a tad bit too low given his production.
Another good young pass rusher is Danielle Hunter of the Minnesota Vikings, who has an 86 rating. Both players have 21.5 sacks over the last two seasons. Hunter should be rated higher because he is coming off a season with 14.5 sacks, but Ngakoue should be rated just below him.
Adjusted Rating- 86
Leonard Fournette- 81
Fournette has had his ups and downs as a pro. He’s battled injuries and had to deal with a lack of a passing game at times too. In eight games last season he rushed for 439 yards and five touchdowns on 3.3 yards per carry. While it wasn’t his best effort, Fournette was rated too low at an 81.
Austin Ekeler of the Los Angeles Chargers rushed for 554 yards in 14 games. He was a nice change of pace back, but struggled when he had to fill in full-time for Melvin Gordon. Fournette shouldn’t be rated lower than Ekeler and should be boosted a few points.
Adjusted Rating- 83
Dede Westbrook- 79
The Jaguars didn’t have the best quarterback play last season, but Westbrook hauled in 66 passes for 717 yards and five touchdowns. He displayed talent even if his stats weren’t among the best receivers in the game. With a new quarterback, Westbrook should be able to produce more in 2019.
Westbrook has the same rating as DeVante Parker of the Miami Dolphins. Parker had just 24 catches for 309 yards and one touchdown in 11 games last season. Westbrook deserves to be rated a little higher than Parker given the stats.
Adjusted Rating- 81
Nick Foles- 77
The Jaguars made a big signing when they brought in Nick Foles to run the offense. After leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory after the 2017 season, he passed for 1,413 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions on 72.3 percent completion. Although he was a backup, he will now be the starter in Jacksonville. He was given a rating of 77 by the Madden team.
Foles is rated lower than Marcus Mariota, who is still developing as a quarterback. In 14 games last season, Mariota threw for 2,528 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions on 68.9 percent completion. Foles and Mariota should be rated similarly.
Adjusted Rating- 79
