Summary
The Raptors are in a thrilling series in the NBA Finals right now with the Golden State Warriors. They currently lead 3-2 . Toronto had a great regular season, winning 58 games and earning the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
Toronto ranked eighth in points per game this season at 114.4. They were 17th in rebounds per game and 13th in assists per game. Their defense was ninth in the league at 108.4 points allowed per game, but had spurts of being great. The Raptors were the seventh best 3-point shooting team in the league at 36.1 percent.
Kyle Lowry, Serge Ibaka, Norman Powell, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam, Chris Boucher and Malcolm Miller are all under contract for next season. Marc Gasol and Kawhi Leonard have player options for the 2019-2020 season. Danny Green, Patrick McCaw, Jeremy Lin and Jodie Meeks are notable players who will be free agents at the end of the season.
Picks
The Raptors have one pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Second Round:Â Pick No. 59
Team Needs
Rebounding-Â They rank 17th in the league and can improve in this area for next season.
Wings-Â Leonard and Green could leave in free agency, which would make Toronto thin on the wing.
Projected Targets
Second Round: Pick No. 59: Admiral Schofield, F, Tennessee
If some of the Raptors wings leave in free agency, they will need to replace those players. Schofield may not be able to start for the Raptors, but could add to their talented “bench mob”. The 6-foot-6, 241-pound forward averaged 16.1 points per game and has a solid offensive game. He can stretch the floor with his shooting and can also put the ball on the deck. He will be strong enough to deal with most defenders matching up with him in the NBA due to his great strength.
