The NFL season is full of surprises, which makes it hard to pick winners. Cecil Walker and Joe DiTullio, of The Third and the Don Football Show, will do their best to try to predict the winners for every NFL game this season. Here are the NFL week 16 picks.
Saturday: Washington Redskins at Tennessee Titans
Joe- The Redskins got a win with Josh Johnson, but they are allowing the most rushing yards over the last few weeks and Derrick Henry is on fire.- Titans
Cecil- The Titans are finally developing an identity on offense with Derrick Henry. That combined with a good defense should help them defeat the Redskins easily.-Titans
Baltimore Ravens at Los Angeles Chargers
Joe- After they beat the Chiefs on Thursday night, the Chargers have proven they can play with the best even without some key players. The extra days off will help them deal with the Ravens’ good defense.- Chargers
Cecil- The Ravens have to travel to the West Coast and face a far superior Chargers team. That does not bode well for their playoff hopes.-Chargers
Sunday: Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland BrownsÂ
Joe- While the Bengals beat the Raiders, that shouldn’t be seen as a huge victory, even without Andy Dalton. The Browns still want revenge over Hue Jackson and still have minimal playoff hopes- Browns
Cecil- Baker Mayfield and company should have a field day against one of the worst defenses in the NFL.-Cecil
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Dallas Cowboys
Joe- The loss to the Cowboys is disappointing, but the Cowboys have the playoffs within reach. Their defense is legitimate and the offense has been coming along.- Cowboys
Cecil- The Cowboys should have no problem with a team that is in the bottom five of almost every defensive category. The Bucs offense shouldn’t give the Cowboys much trouble.-Cowboys
Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions
Joe- After firing their offensive coordinator, the Vikings had an offensive explosion against the Dolphins with 41 points. The Lions won’t give them too many issues-Vikings
Cecil-The Lions look like they are ready to pack it in for the season with all of their playmakers injured. The Vikings are starting to put things together with the reemergence of.Dalvin Cook and need to win to remain in the wildcard race.-Vikings
New York Giants at Indianapolis Colts
Joe- This game is simple. Indy has a lot to play for and the Giants don’t. – Colts
Cecil- As always, the only thing that the Colts need to worry about is Saquon Barkley. That shouldn’t matter though if Andrew Luck keeps playing at an elite level. Colts.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Miami Dolphins
Joe- They may have lost to the Vikings, but the Dolphins have played extremely well this season given their talent level. Kalen Ballage and Kenyan Drake will be taking a lot of the carries for Frank Gore and will produce.- Dolphins
Cecil- The Jaguars have nothing to play for and the Dolphins must win for the wildcard race. It will be close, but the Dolphins will win.-Dolphins
Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots
Joe- New England has to win to keep any home field advantage hopes alive. Josh Allen has played well, but not well enough to beat the Patriots.- Patriots
Cecil- The Bills are playing better, but the Patriots still rule the AFC East.-Patriots
Green Bay Packers at New York Jets
Joe- The Packers are not making the playoffs, but still have Aaron Rodgers playing.- Packers
Cecil- I cannot go against Aaron Rodgers playing a bad Jets team.-Packers
Houston Texans at Philadelphia Eagles
Joe- Nick Foles stepped into the lineup again and helped the Eagles win. He has a stiff test at home against the Texans. Houston will pressure him and force him into mistakes to get the win.- Texans
Cecil- There are just too many injuries on the Eagles to trust them even after beating the Rams. The Texans will be coming at full force as they compete for a first round bye.-Texans
Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers
Joe- No one should have faith in the Panthers while they are on this crazy losing streak. Julio Jones has been playing very well for the last few games.- Falcons
Cecil- I cannot go with a team that has lost six games straight even if they are playing a bad Falcons team.-Falcons
Los Angeles Rams at Arizona Cardinals
Joe- The Rams have lost two straight, but it’s the Cardinals.- Rams
Cecil- The Rams will win easily.-Rams
Chicago Bears at San Francisco 49ers
Joe- The two teams of the Mitchell Trubisky trade will square off in much different circumstances. San Francisco is playing better than expected, but the Bears are a way better team.- Bears
Cecil- The 49ers have shown some real grit this season, but the Bears are looking like a legitimate Super Bowl contender.-Bears
Pittsburgh Steelers at New Orleans Saints
Joe- Quite simply, the Saints are the best team in the NFL at home. The Steelers did well to beat the Patriots, but still have a lot of real issues.- Saints
Cecil- I can’t pick against Drew Brees at home and the Steelers have a terrible pass defense.-Saints
Kansas City Chiefs at Seattle Seahawks
Joe- Seattle has had a season that went above expectations, but they just lost to the 49ers. Kansas City’s offense will be hard to match- Chiefs
Cecil- Playing in a loud stadium like Seattle’s could cause Pat Mahomes to make a few mistakes as the Seahawks try to control the clock.-Seattle
Monday Night Football: Denver Broncos at Oakland Raiders
Joe- The Raiders fired their general manager, traded away their best players, don’t have a home for next season and just lost to the lowly Bengals. The Third and The Don Football Show is ready and willing to take over this franchise.- Broncos
Cecil- The Broncos still have the slightest chance to make the playoffs and the Raiders are a bottom five NFL team. You can figure that one out.-Broncos
