Gase was fired as head coach of the Miami Dolphins following this season. He made the playoffs in his first of three seasons in Miami, but failed to do so again. Over the three years, Miami’s record was 23-25.
His time
Before getting the job in Miami, Gase was the offensive coordinator for the Broncos and Bears. He also has held assistant positions for both the 49ers and Lions.
In New York, Gase will take over for Todd Bowles, who had a 24-40 record with the team. The Jets never made the playoffs under his leadership. Bowles was fired after going 4-12 in 2018.
