According to Sources, IMT Challengers will be signing former Dignitas Academy player David “Yusui” Bloomquist. He will be the starting midlaner for IMT challengers once he joins as Onur Can “Bolulu” Demirol has been promoted to the LCS roster while Nicholas Antonio “Ablazeolive” Abbott takes a break because due to personal reasons.
Yusui has been a player who has been in the scene for some time. They started back in 2014 playing for the team, Team Gyrations. The team played in the NA Black Monster cup in the fall of 2014 and the play-in for the NACS Summer Series #2, where they, unfortunately, lost to Denial and shortly disbanded after the loss. However, this was just the start of Yusui’s long grind to reaching the top of NA League of Legends esports, the LCS.
He has had time in the LCS with four different orgs but only one as a starter in the LCS. He played for C9, Echo Fox and then team Liquid. In 2021, Yusui joined Dignitas Academy where he later got promoted to the LCS for the Summer split. Yusui performed well in LCS but ended up leaving at the end of 2021.
Regardless, IMT challengers have been looking shakey in the NACL, but an experienced player like Yusui might be the solution to their problems.
Immortals LCS team has been struggling as well but Bolulu has seemingly been enough of a change to help bolster the team. With Yusui getting back into the scene it will be interesting to see where IMT go from here as their Spring is basically over. Could Yusui get another shot at an LCS level spot? Time will tell as he will still have to perform with IMT Challengers first should he be signed.
