Boston Uprising’s Contenders team Uprising Academy have signed former Brazil Gaming House and based tryhards DPS Nicolas “Klaus” Ferrari, a source told The Game Haus earlier this week.
Klaus has long been established as one of the best players South American Overwatch has ever seen. His consistent performance on Team KARMA and Isurus Gaming have netted him a long list of accolades, but never a first place finish in Contenders. To that end, Klaus joined Brasil Gaming House in October 2018, and transferred out of the organization with the rest of his new team to form the unsigned org “based tryhards”. The team is currently competing in South American Contenders, and is undefeated after their Week 1 bout against Caverna E-Sports.
Uprising Academy has had a tumultuous off-season, dealing with PR implosions and the loss of no less than six players – main tank Min-seob “Axxiom” Park, main support Harrison “Kruise” Pond, flex support Jin-seo “Shu” Kim, and DPS players Charlie “nero” Zwarg, Dalton “Dalton” Bennyhoff and Kelsey “Colourhex” Birse. While their replacements are some of the strongest Contenders-level players out there, this team will be far different from the Toronto Esports squad of Season 2. Their first match starts Tuesday night at 7:30 PST vs Fusion University.
