This week, Call of Duty players have been discussing the problem with Equipment in Black Ops 4. With the game now a couple weeks old, many pro players have been competing in tournaments and scrims, despite no official ruleset.
One area that players have voiced concern about so far has been in regards to equipment. In Black Ops 4, the only non-Specialist equipment are Trophy Systems, Combat Axes, Frags, Molotovs and Concussions. This can be an issue when players run into the “Torque” character with Razor Wire and Barricade, both of which take multiple gun clips to take down. As of right now, there doesn’t seem to be a quick counter to use to combat Torque’s abilities.
Many players, including Team Envy coach Embry “Bevils” Bevil and broadcaster Landon “LandO” Sanders, have taken to Twitter to give their input.
add an EMP and make it break guardian shields and barb wire then add smokes and wow what do you know everything in the game has counters,

Dear @Treyarch,
On behalf of the Call of Duty Esports community I request that smokes & EMPs get added to multiplayer. We all feel that it will help added an extra element to competitive, especially in Search & Destroy.
Best Wishes,

Many players have called for Treyarch to add EMP grenades into the game to counter the Torque abilities and smoke grenades to add variety, especially in the Search and Destroy game mode. Both have been staples in Call of Duty games in previous years. Smoke grenades have been used in previous titles to get through lines of sight and open up lanes on the map that would normally be covered by enemy teams.
Another issue many players have had so far have been with the character Ajax and his nine-bang flash grenades. These flash grenades last longer than most previous flashes and also don’t allow your player to aim down sights while flashed. Possible changes include increased refresh time to use the flash, decrease the power of the flash, reduce the range, or allow your character to aim down sights while flashed.
Treyarch has announced on Reddit that there will be minor updates throughout the weekend and that the next full game patch will drop sometime next week. This big update is rumored to have the game’s first gun buffs and nerfs and could also include changes to equipment.
Treyarch has yet to announce an official rule set for the Black Ops 4 Call of Duty World League season. Pro players like Michael “SpaceLy” Schmale are very eager to get the official rules for the new season.
Praying a ruleset comes out tomorrow.

As of right now, Treyarch has not announced when the competitive rules or League Play will come out.
