After being crowned Major 3 champions, the Seattle Surge proved they are one of the best teams in the world. But did that win cement them as the best? Here are the top five teams heading into CoD Major 4.

5. LA Thieves
It’s been a rollercoaster of a year for Nadeshot’s LA Thieves squad. After performing subpar in the online qualifying matches, they stepped up when in counted on LAN. Earning victories over teams like the ROKKR and OpTic Texas.
After finishing top four, their best placement so far this year. It’s safe to say they’ve earned their spot in the top five. However, with the LA Thieves being so volatile, don’t be surprised if they fall off the list or even end up moving to the top.
4. Toronto Ultra
Starting out red hot by winning the Kickoff Classic at the beginning of the year, things quickly turned south at the beginning of the year. But the Toronto Ultra fought their way back into contention of being the best team in the game.
They’re starting to get hot with a solid qualifying record and a top-three finish at the last major. Look for them to make a run in the next two majors.
3. Seattle Surge
Even though they just won the latest major, there are two teams that are above them. However, the Seattle Surge put on a magnificent performance capping it off by beating FaZe twice to win the event.
Similar to the LA Thieves, the Seattle Surge are prone to being pretty volatile. So their position on the list could be in jeopardy heading into the qualifying matches and CoD Major 4.
2. OpTic Texas
About OpTic Texas. Even though they have only placed top six in the past two Major events, they’re still OpTic. With the talent they have on their roster and the performance they put on at the beginning of the year, it’s hard to argue with their placement.
They need to get their leader Indervir “iLLeY” Dhaliwal back healthy and playing well again. Along with their other stars playing they way everyone knows they can. Then OpTic may well be the unanimous best team in the game like they were after winning Major 1. They are definitely going to be a contender for the championship at the next two majors.
1. Atlanta FaZe
The Atlanta FaZe have been consistently dominant throughout the entire year. Although they haven’t won a championship this year, they always fight for the top spot at every major qualifying and have appeared in the Grand Finals at every major event this year (not including Kickoff Classic or Pro-Am Classic).
The FaZe are still at the top, but with OpTic getting all of their players back and other teams getting better, the top spot could be in jeopardy heading into Major 4.
