With Season 14 just one week away, massive changes are in store for Apex Legends. The new legend Vantage headlines the update, but weapons and equipment are also getting big adjustments. For a long time players have clamored for the removal of self-revive and in Season 14 their wish will finally come true. Apex Legends Guardian Angel is getting a big change.

The Self-Revive perk is completely removed from the game. Instead, the gold knockdown shield comes with the Guardian Angel perk that used to be on the gold backpack. Apex Legends Guardian Angel lets players who have it equipped revive their teammates with bonus shields and health.
The gold backpack receives a new perk in the upcoming season. Deep Pockets allow players to hold one extra large healing item (Shield Battery, Med Kit, or Phoenix Kit) per inventory slot. Characters that used to prioritize the gold backpack like Lifeline and Gibraltar now need the gold knockdown shield instead to get their teammates back into the action quickly.
Players are in store for a major shake-up in the new season. In addition to the long-awaited removal of self-revive from gold knockdown shields, Respawn is introducing a new legend, map changes, and more item alterations. This season will certainly bring change, whether that is good or not is still to be seen.
Players will have to jump in and see for themselves. All of these changes and more go live when Apex Legends Season 14 starts on August 9.
