The Atlanta Falcons have hired Rams’ defensive coordinator Raheem Morris to take over as head coach according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Morris is a former assistant with the Falcons, spending time with the franchise from 2016-2020. He was a wide receivers coach and defensive coordinator. As an assistant, he has also had stops with Washington and Tampa Bay.
He has experience as a head coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he was 17-31 over three seasons. The highlight of his time was a 10-6 record in 2010. Morris also was the interim head coach for the Falcons in 2020, posting a 4-7 record.
In Atlanta, he will take over for Arthur Smith who was fired after three seasons. The Falcons finished with a 7-10 record in 2023.
