The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2022 LendingTree Bowl.
Rice Owls Draft Prospects
Bradley Rozner, WR
Rozner has been at Rice for four seasons. He started off his career hot and has had to battle injuries to work his way back. In his career, Rozner has 98 catches for 1,634 yards and 14 touchdowns. This season, Rozner has 41 receptions for 834 yards and nine touchdowns.
He has great height at 6-foot-5, but will need to add some muscle to his 204-pound frame. His height has made him a matchup problem at the C-USA level and that could be something he takes to the next level if he is fully healthy. Rozner could go very late in the 2023 NFL Draft if he declares.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Luke McCaffrey, WR
McCaffrey is the son of former NFL receiver Ed McCaffrey and brother of Christian McCaffrey. He started his career at Nebraska before transferring to Rice and has also made the transition from quarterback to receiver. In his first full season as a wide receiver, McCaffrey registered 51 catches for 656 yards and six touchdowns.
He has NFL-level size at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds. McCaffrey has experience as an all-purpose player and is still learning the nuances of the wide receiver position. He likely will head back to school for another season to improve his craft.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Southern Miss Golden Eagles Draft Prospects
Jason Brownlee, WR
Brownlee has been with Southern Miss for three seasons and has improved each year on campus. He has 132 receptions for 2,072 yards and 20 touchdowns in his career. This season, Brownlee has posted 52 receptions for 819 yards and seven touchdowns.
He will need to add weight to his 195-pound frame, but has a good height for the position at 6-foot-3. Brownlee has shown the ability to make plays, but with some eligibility remaining, he will likely return to school and hope to improve his stock.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Dominic Quewon, EDGE
Quewon started his career off at the JUCO level before playing at Southern Miss for the last three seasons. After two mundane seasons, Quewon proved himself this season. He has registered 41 total tackles, 17 tackles for loss and 15 sacks in his career. This season, Quewon has 19 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss and nine sacks.
He doesn’t have the best measurables at 6-foot-3 and 254 pounds, but his production this season will get him looks from NFL teams. There will be some worry that he was a one-year wonder in terms of production at the FBS level.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Other Draft Prospects: RB Frank Gore Jr. (UFA), CB Eric Scott (UFA)
