The 2021 football season is underway. It is never too early to look ahead to the draft. Here is the 2022 NFL Mock Draft December 29.
2022 NFL Mock Draft December 29
1. Jacksonville Jaguars- Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon
The Jaguars need help all over. Getting Thibodeaux to rush the passer across from Josh Allen could at least give them a good pass rush.
2. Detroit Lions- Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, MichiganÂ
Detroit can stick with Jared Goff for one more season while they build out the roster. Hutchinson is very technically sound and can help their pass rush from day one.
3. Houston Texans- Evan Neal, OT, Alabama
With no elite quarterback prospects in this draft, Davis Mills has earned the right to start for the Texans next year. They need to make sure he is better protected.
4. New York Jets- Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU
One area the Jets really need to improve is their secondary. The corners are not great, but luckily Derek Stingley is a very talented cover man out of LSU. He will have to recover from a foot injury, but he is very naturally gifted.
5. New York Giants- George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue
The Giants rank near the bottom of the league in sacks per game. They need to get more pressure on the quarterback and Karlaftis is a versatile lineman who can help.
6. Carolina Panthers- Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss
Sam Darnold is not the answer at quarterback. The Panthers need to address the quarterback position in free agency or in the draft this offseason if they want to compete.
7. New York Jets (via SEA)- Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
The Jets already took a secondary position, but Hamilton presents good value and they really need better play at the backend of their defense.
8. New York Giants (via CHI)- Tyler Linderbaum, OG/C, Iowa
With the Giants likely keeping Daniel Jones, they need to get better interior offensive linemen. Linderbaum is undersized, but extremely good at center.
9. Washington Football Team- Malik Willis, QB, Liberty
Washington still needs a quarterback of the future. Willis has a long way to go in terms of reading defenses and making better decisions, but he has great athleticism and arm strength.
10. Atlanta Falcons- Demarvin Leal, DL, Texas A&M
The Falcons still need more help on defense if they are to become more competitive. Leal could play inside or outside for the Falcons, helping bring some versatility to their defensive line.
11. Denver Broncos- Carson Strong, QB, Nevada
The Broncos may have a new regime, who will want a new quarterback. Strong can make any throw asked of him and also protects the ball decently, which could entice the Broncos.
12. Minnesota Vikings- Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson
Minnesota signed Patrick Peterson at corner, but have also started Bashaud Breeland, who has not played well this season.
13. Cleveland Browns- Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State
After trading Odell Beckham Jr., the Browns need to get another playmaker at wide receiver to make their offense more dynamic.
14. New Orleans Saints- Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina
The Saints have the defense and some key offensive pieces to be competitive, they just need a quarterback. Whether that is Jameis Winston coming back from injury or acquiring a new one this offseason, the offense needs a jolt.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers- Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh
It is apparent that Ben Roehtlisberger doesn’t have much left in the tank. On top of that, the Steelers don’t have a proven quarterback on the roster. If they want to compete again, they too need to address the quarterback position.
16 Baltimore Ravens- Jordan Davis, DL, Georgia
Baltimore needs someone to man the middle of their 3-4 defense. Davis is huge and moves well for his size. Even if he doesn’t make plays, he’ll open things up for others to do so.
17. Las Vegas Raiders- Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State
The Raiders shed a lot of their offensive line talent before the season and need to replenish it. Cross is a fantastic pass blocker.
18. Los Angeles Chargers- Kenyon Green, OG/C, Texas A&M
Justin Herbert is getting pressured up the middle, so the Chargers need to invest more into their offensive line.
19. Philadelphia Eagles (via MIA)- Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
Jalen Hurts has earned the right to start next season at quarterback. The Eagles need more weapons for him to utilize along with DeVonta Smith. Burks is a bigger, but athletic receiver.
20. Philadelphia Eagles- Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida
The Eagles can get another good corner across from Slay, which could really help their defense take a jump.
21. Miami Dolphins (via SF)- Ikem Ekwonu, OT, NC State
Miami has to upgrade the offensive line in order to protect Tua Tagovailoa.
22. Cincinnati Bengals-Â Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
The Bengals need to get a better corner to go across from Chidobe Awuzie. Gardner is a tall and lanky corner who hasn’t given up a touchdown pass in his career.
23. Buffalo Bills- Isaiah Spiller, RB, Texas A&M
Buffalo has a roster rich with talent. One area they could really improve is at running back. Zack Moss and Devin Singletary have failed to overly impress.
24. New England Patriots- Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
The Patriots need to get Mac Jones more help at wide receiver if they want him to be successful long-term. Olave is a smooth runner, who makes things look easy.
25. Philadelphia Eagles (via IND)- Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah
Philadelphia can upgrade a lot of areas with their three first-round picks. They need to target a linebacker at some point in the draft, as their linebackers haven’t been great this season.
26. Arizona Cardinals- Roger McCreary, CB, Auburn
Arizona doesn’t have many needs, but could get a corner to develop across from Byron Murphy.
27. Tennessee Titans- Kenyon Green, OG/C, Texas A&M
The Titans need to get healthy to start, but they can improve the interior of the offensive line.
28. Detroit Lions (via LAR)- Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama
The Lions have one of the worst wide receiver rooms in the league. They should stick with Jared Goff for one more year and give him some help, while they stock the roster with talent for the next quarterback.
29. Dallas Cowboys- Daxton Hill, S, Michigan
With Trevon Diggs and Anthony Brown playing decently, the Cowboys just need better safety play behind them.
30. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington
Tampa Bay has had so many injuries to their secondary that they may want to draft a corner in the first round with not too many needs on the roster.
31. Kansas City Chiefs- Drake Jackson, EDGE, USC
Kansas City has their offense getting back on track, but their defense needs to add some talent this offseason.
32. Green Bay Packers- Drake London, WR, USC
Some of Green Bay’s receivers are stepping up, but they still lack a consistent number two receiver.
